Yesterday, I arranged to go with Rachel to LOFT KAFE, located on the Mezzanine Level of Far East Consortium Building at 204-206 Nathan Road, Jordan. I remember that a few months ago, Rocky and I attended a seminar in the event room connected to this café. After the seminar, we met the owner, Yen, and learned that she has a friend who is a member of the same business association as Rocky. During our conversation, Rocky successfully recommended the iCHEF ordering system to her, and two days later, LOFT joined the iCHEF family. I recalled that the café had a few adorable cats, so as soon as I arrived, I exclaimed that I wanted to greet them. However, knowing it was their nap time, I decided not to disturb them. Later, I found out that Yen had other commitments and wouldn’t be in the café for another week, so after a phone call with her, I shifted my focus to talking with her two employees.

After receiving the café’s menu, Rachel and I each ordered a cup of lemongrass tea. It was served piping hot, and as I opened the cup lid, the fresh aroma of lemongrass wafted up, instantly reminding me of the comfort and relaxation during my spa massages in Thailand. I shared my experience of attending the seminar in their event room with Rachel, and at the same time, I inquired with the employees, Queenie and Ah Yi, about the details of renting the space for events. I learned that they can provide assorted snacks and drinks for event guests, even though the menu features only vegetarian items; the snacks offered during events include a mix of vegetarian and meat options. The all-vegetarian menu is already quite appetizing, and I hope to revisit to try their most popular vegetarian burger and vegetarian minced Thai-style fried rice. Several iCHEF clients specialize in vegetarian cuisine and put great effort into preparing delicious vegetarian dishes. Although we are not vegetarians, we always enjoy tasting their culinary creations during our visits.

Once the nap time ended, the cats gradually woke up, jumping out of their sleeping baskets or cages, stretching on the floor, and licking their paws. Their movements were natural and amusing. Occasionally, they would softly meow to attract everyone’s attention, as if to tell us that this restaurant is their territory, allowing them to be themselves! Whilst the cats were so free and relaxing, Rachel and I asked Queenie to lead us on a free tour of the three event rooms and take some photos to see if the location was suitable for hosting a client exchange meeting.
This revisit enhanced our understanding of the staff on duty and the event space. I hope that in our next visit we will have the opportunity to further understand Yen’s thoughts on the iCHEF system and how to arrange vendor exchange events in the event rooms.
